The Bow Guy began with a story from my early days. I was talking while working with one of my first clients, a Luthier, and I asked what you call someone who rehairs and repairs bows. With a laugh, he said, I don’t know, but you’re definitely my Bow Guy. And the name stuck.

I specialise in rehairing, repairing and restoring all types of bows from violin to double bass and from baroque to modern. But my work goes further. Many times, it’s important to know who made the bow, its historical and market value, or answer specific questions. I work closely with respected experts to offer you a complete, reliable service.

With passion and absolute dedication

At first glance, rehairing might seem a mechanical and rutinary task. Certainly, to do an average rehair it might be, but not all the bows, instruments and not all the players are the same.

I am trained to adapt and search the way to make the best rehair for your bow in order to enhance your performance.

With time and regular use, wear and damage are common — from a broken headplate to a worn thumb leather or even cracks in the stick. I offer repairs that are functional, aesthetic, or carried out with historical respect, depending on your needs

I can also tweak the balance point within safe limits to suit your playing style. Ongoing maintenance ensures the playability and preservation of your bow.

Maybe you own an old bow — inherited, found at a fleamarket or simply worn by time and use. I offer full restorations, whether your goal is functionality, appearance or historical accuracy.

We’ll begin with a discussion to evaluate the bow’s condition and define the steps and goals together. That way, the result reflects both the bow’s spirit and your intentions.
